Learn how to grow herbs with little or no maintenance on your bookshelf, by following the first “Tuto des makers”, a new feature of Arte’s online tv-magazine “FutureMag”.

Charles and Romain may not be the first to offer a tutorial for building a DIY greenhouse, but their simple, playful method, published online by “FutureMag”, is an opportunity for Makery to applaud french-german TV Arte’s initiative to run a show on innovative DIY (watch it here). Their “shelf vegetable garden” launches a new series that will be rebroadcast each week in an augmented Web version, under “Tuto des makers‚” “do-it-yourselfers who confront their imaginations to invent the world of tomorrow‚” according to “FutureMag”.

Charles de la Boulaye and Romain Balmary lead the budding start-up Ciel mon radis (“Sky my radish”), which they created after graduating from their business school in Lyon (France). They also host workshops on home gardening (of aromatic herbs) for corporate clients.

The tutorial explains in 2 minutes how to build your shelf garden, complete with neon light, timer, a few recycled plastic bottles for hydroponics (when plants grow without soil), potting soil and herb seeds.
